The Ducks have a brand new Baseball staduim. USC was in town this weekend to play the Ducks, so Pancho took Sam and Lucy to the game today. Sam was in heaven and he had so much fun with Pancho at the game. When we were tucking him in tonight, he told us, "I don't know if I can go to sleep tonight, I am too excited about everything that happened today".
I took this picture right before they left for the game.
Lucy was excited to go too, but Pancho called me to come pick her up about an hour into the game. She liked it, but she was ready to come home (I love my girl). I picked her up and she and I had a great time shopping for flowers together, and planting them in the yard.
. . . a picture of our new stadium.
Sam had so much fun, that he and Pancho stayed for the whole game. Then they stayed after the game, because the players put on a clinic for the kids who stay. He got to go down on the field, play baseball with the players, pitch, run the bases and get his ball signed too!
Sam and Lu at the game, just before one of the USC players caught a fly ball, then came over and handed it to Lucy. She was so excited, but still wanted to go home early.
Sam on the field, waiting for the players to come out and start the clinic.
He couldn't stop talking about it when he got home, he reminded me of his Daddy. I got to hear every detail!
I think that one of the best things about this day for Sam was that he got his Dad all to himself for most of the day. This is very rare for the middle child. It is also difficult when you have 2 boys that are close in age and want to do the same things. I was so happy for Sam that he got this special day (mostly) all to himself!
Where was Max you ask?
Well this was a weekend of firsts for our kids. First Oregon Baseball Game for Sam. First front tooth loss for Lucy (see next post) and first travelling game for Max. His team had a game in North Bend, which is about 2 hours away. Pancho and I chose not to spend 4 hours in the car to watch a 1 hour soccer game (especially since we got to watch 2 games yesterday) so we happily sent him with his coaches. He was so excited!
The team met at St. Paul at 10:00 this morning to pile into two cars for the long drive.
Ben, Max and Connor all strapped in for the long drive. Even though they tied their game, Max had so much fun spending the day with his team. They didnt get home until 5:00pm. He is growing up so fast, I am not sure if I am ready for this.

Looks like fun, we want to go to Ducks baseball or softball. Well actually Jack wants to see the Beavers!
