A Weekend in Florence with Good Friends!

To celebrate my last real weekend of summer, I wanted to go to the beach!  Our family had not made it to the Oregon Coast all summer, and I just couldn't let a whole summer go by without enjoying the beautiful Oregon Coast!  I love Driftwood Shores in Florence, so we invited our good friends the Dacars and Hakalas and made it into a mini vacation!

The kids worked so hard making this volcano looking thing.  They loved standing on it and waiting for the waves to come in around them.

Max is looking more and more like a teenager to me.
I am not ready for this!

The kids  made it look like it was warm at the beach!

. . . .but it wasn't!
Me, Christy and Liz
We were all bundled up, it was actually the wind that was making it chilly.  The next day, the wind calmed down and it was a lot warmer.

Lulu and I, with our hotel in the background.

Sam found this wet, soggy $$$ in his pocket.
He was so happy!

The boys buried each other, then Lucy helped with the finishing touches.

The Dad's and the kids walking on the beach, I love this!

We all had lots of fun at the pool!
Once again, the water guns were a hit.

We also spent a lot of time in the hot tub!

Lucy loves it when "Daddy" gets in the pool too!

I couldn't wait to go to Mo's for some clam chowder. . . Yum!

We also made it to the Heceta Light House.
It was really beautiful there, and I really liked the tour of the Lighthouse.

It was a nice little hike up to the Lighthouse.

jumping!!!

on the hike back down to the car from the lighthouse

Pancho and I, back on the beach, Lucy took this picture!

It was such a fun way to celebrate the last weekend of such a great summer.  I am so sad to see this fun summer come to an end, but it sure was fun to have one last adventure with our good friends!
