So, I have to admit, I kind of talked Lucy into playing soccer this year. I was feeling like I didn't know many of the other families in Lucy's class. I think that standing on the sidelines together is a pretty good parent bonding experience. So, selfishly, I made her sign up. Luckily, she seems to really like it! Of course she hasn't had to play a game in the pouring rain . . .YET! I have a feeling she might be a fair weather athlete (like her Momma), but I am just happy that she is so happy!
Anna, Chelsea and Lucy
These adorable little first graders have been dominating the field!
They were so excited to get REAL uniforms that have their names on them.
So cool!!!
(yes- Lucy really is that much taller than all of the other girls in her class)
. . .and there she is in action.
We were so excited when Lucy scored a goal at her very first game in her entire life!
The starters, ready to "DOMINATE" as Pancho would say.
The happy girl at the end of her very first game, more excited about the snacks than the goal that she scored.
*update - since her first game, she has played in about 5 more games. Some of these girls have been playing together for 2 years already! Lucy is still a bit apprehensive, but she is improving and getting more aggresive with each game. Her team is really good, they have won all of their games, by a lot. It will be fun to watch these girls grow up and play together.
