Even though I tend to complain a lot about my busy schedule, I really do LOVE my job. Last Thrusday - Friday was our annual overnight field trip to OMSI. We leave school Thursday afternoon, get on charter bus and watch a movie on the bus (Megamind). Then we get to OMSI (Oregon Museum of Science and Industry) and they keep the kids fully entertained with science activities, Karaoke & an OMNIMAX movie until "lights out" at 11:00pm. We sleep in sleeping bags on the floor of the museum. The next morning we are up and at it again at 7:00am for more fun :). We take the bus back to school just in time for a pizza party. It is a very tiring experience, but the kids have so much fun!
I didn't even have to volunteer as a parent chaperone on Max's field trip. Lucky Max gets to have HIS mom there no matter what. He actually sat right in front of Mike and I on the bus, so we had some fun giving poor Max a bad time.
Exploring the fun activities at the Museum.
. . . a group photo of my 51 fabulous 5th graders!
What a fun group!

There is almost no way to get your picture taken without some "bunny ears" in 5th grade. It comes with the territory :)
As much work and stress that a field trip like this can be for a teacher, it is so worth it! The kids have so much fun. It was even more fun this year, because I got to be with Max too! I will be sad to see this school year come to an end. What a gift it has been to me, as a mom, to get to spend 5th grade with my son. I feel very blessed!

Good for you for making a "memory"!
