Sports Update . . .

All three kids are involved in sports right now, so this is just a little update.

Lucy had another gymnatics meet today.
She is really loving gymnastics, and she really good at it too!

. . . an action shot of her doing the vault.

Lucy was so excited to get her second gymnastics trophy.
Notice that she is the only one wearing a skort and teeshirt!  I keep asking her if she wants a leotard (is that what they are called now?) but she is categorically against them.  She is funny, because she likes the girly stuff, but she doesn't like dressing up in princess dresses or anything too girly.

Now on to baseball . . .
Max is playing baseball on a team with Ben and many of his other St. Paul friends.

He is really fast, so baseball comes fairly easy for him.

Sam is playing baseball too!
He is absolutely loving it!
Sam is the type of person who either loves something or despises it. . . and he certainly lets us all know how he feels!

It has been such a bummer so far this season, we have had quite a few rainouts.
He was so excited when he finally got to play a game!

Oregon has had the rainiest spring that we have ever had!
These are some of the devoted parents sitting through a heavy rainstorm, but the kids played on.
I actually sat through Max's 5:15 game and then Sam's 7:15 game still in my work clothes, huddled under a borrowed umbrella, being pelted by sideways rain . . . good times!

. . . getting ready to run to second base!  Go Sam!

One last picture of Lucy at home after the Gymnastics meet, still so proud of her ribbons and trophies.

. . . end of the school year activities!

Max's 4th grade class had an Oregon Trail Day, to end their Oregon History Unit.  It was so cool, they got to move around to about 8 different stations, doing activites that had to do with the Oregon Trial.  Here he is making butter and bisquits.  He also learned to weave, make paper, and design a covered wagon!

I guess this is what he is going to look like when he is 40!

Sam's school had a carnival!
Sam and Daunte had a blast.
Most of their friends were there, so we hardly saw them.
They were running around the whole time!

I took Lucy around from booth to booth, collecting as much annoying junk as we could!
She was so happy with all of her "treasures".

Pancho worked our shift at the Duck Pond, then he caught up with Lucy and I.

Max ended up getting as much candy as his tickets would allow!
Here he is with Lucy at the lollipop tree.

Lucy loved the bouncy house, she spent a lot of time there.

. . . and finally, the countdown is on to my last day!
Only 4 1/2 days to go!!!!

I will certainly miss this fun group of kids though.
We have had so much fun this week, they put on plays, made up  their own board games, and made contraptions to drop off the roof of the school (egg drop)!
I really have enjoyed teaching 5th grade this year, it is such a fun age.

Spa Night!

I LOVED THIS WEEKEND!
Why . . . you ask?  It was one of the only weekend this whole year that we didn't have our weekend pre-planed for us with either a football, soccer, basketball or baseball game (or one of each - just kidding).  But truthfully, sports really do rule your life when you have kids that are our kids age!  So we got to spend some quality family time together!

The biggest news of the weekend?
Lucy finally  "lost" that one tooth that was hanging sideways out of the front of her mouth for the past month and a half.  She thinks it fell out in her sleep, but actually Pancho pulled it out while she was sleeping, she woke up and thought that she had done it herself!  Shhhhh - don't tell!  ha ha

On Saturday night, we had a family movie night!
We watched "The Spy Next Door", and Max made popcorn and smoothies with little umbrellas in them for all of us.  Lucy and I decided to have a "spa night" while watching the movie.  We decided it was time to focus a little more on the girly-girl stuff, since most weekends are all about the boys and sports.  I  told her that we had to have "crazy girl slumber party hair"  so we put our hair in pig-tails.

I can rock the pig tails!

I gave Lucy a pedicure!
We wanted to do a manicure too, but O'Hara doesn't allow finger nail polish, so we are saving that for summer.

Lucy's cute little toes (actually they look kind of big in this picture)

Then the boys couldn't help themselves, they had to try it too!
You go Sam!

Lucy giving Max a pedicure!
Lucy really got into it, she is pretty good at the whole pedicure thing, I think that we are going to have to do this more often!

Sam and Pancho with their popcorn and "froofy drinks", ready to watch the movie!

Lucy hard at work.

A back massage, some popcorn, a delicious umbrella drink and a pedicure,
I am one spoiled Mommy!

Did I say that I was getting excited for summer?  This week coming up, I have a going  away party for my principal on Monday night (so another day of 7:00am - 9:00pm of work).  Tuesday night, Max has a 5:15 game and Sam has a 7:15 game (both baseball), Wednesday night, same thing, Max 5:15 and Sam 7:15, Thurday is the Springcreek Carnival from 5:00 - 8:00pm and Friday night Max has praactice from 6:00 - 8:00pm.  Wow!  I am tired just typing my schedule.  I am still amazed that I made it through this year!

Just 2 more weeks of school!
I think I can, I think I can!

O'Hara Spring Musical

This past week was extemely busy!  O'Hara splits the Spring Musical between two nights.  The younger kids go the first night and the older kids the second night.  So . . .  I got to go both nights!  Lucky me (sarcasm).  That was two days in a row of getting to work at 7:00am and getting home at 9:00 that night!  I can't wait for summer!!!!

Lucy and her adorable kindergarten friends before they went on stage and sang their little hearts out at the Spring Musical.  sidenote:  One downside to having tall kids, they are always in the back row at every school production.  I couldn't get a good picture of either of my kids on stage, just their eyes and the tops of their heads!

giving Lucy one final hug before she went on stage.

. . . some of the boys in Lucy's class!

Mrs. Mussio and Lulu
Mrs. Mussio has been such a great teacher this year, and she is our neighbor too!

Max's 4th grade class!  Max is the third from the right.
I can't believe that these kids will be my students next year!  I have watched them all grow up!

A few more pics of the cousins . . .

These pictures were taken just as we were leaving my brothers house in Seattle.  Francine and I had bought Lulu and Annie matching dresses and they were so excited to put them on.

We match!

Cutie and Poser. . .

Da Boys . . .

Crazy pic!

We are just missing Finn . . .
Finn where are you?

Last crazy pic,
cousins are so much fun!

Memorial Day Weekend in Seattle!!!

Sean , Me and Kevin
(my awesome brothers)

We had so much fun visitng my brothers and their families in Seattle this weekend!
I grew up with lots of cousins and we were all really close, so my brothers and I think it is very important to keep that tradition alive.  We want our kids to have as many fun memories together as we have with our cousins!  Luckily, our kids have a BLAST when they are together!  My kids get so excited when they know that they are going to get to see  Will and Annie (and now Finn), that they can't sleep the night before!

Will and Sam
cousins and best buddies!

Annie!
She is so cute and full of personality!
Annie loves clothes, she changes her clothes 2-3 times a day.  She puts the most adorable outfits together. Francine says that it can get tedious at times, but as an Auntie, I think its hilarious!

The kids literally just play and play and play when they are together.
We hardly even see them, they are having so much fun.
Here they are playing "slide down the stairs", this was at least an hour of fun!
They also spent hours outside (often in the rain) playing soccer, football, baseball and tag.

We also took the kids to the Museum of Flight near Boeing Field.
The kids really liked it, we spent most of the day there, and the kids didn't want to leave.
There were tons of interactive things for the kids to do as well as hands on activities.
We learned a lot about airplanes and their history!

Max and Sam in front of a replica of a drone that was put up in space.

Those are all real, life sized airlplanes hanging in the background.

Kacey, Lucy, Sam, Kyla and Max

Speaking of being close to my cousins . . . my cousin Jody, his wife Marrene and their kids Kyla and Kacey met us at the Museum too!  These kids are really second cousins I guess, but they think they are just plain cousins.

Max, Will, Sean and Lucy
making parachutes

Kevin, Kate and Finn met us there too!
Finn is just so much fun these days.  It was so neat to see his adorable personality!
He is such a flirt!  He was smiling at everyone, waving and showing off his new "walking" skills.  He is so proud of himself.

Pancho, Lucy, Will and Sean
Letting their parachutes go!

Lucy, proudly holding her parachute.

The cousins seemed to take more notice of Finn this time, probably because they can play with him now.  They are loving having a new cousin to play with!

Lucy and Will, flying a plane!

Max loved the hang gliding simulator.  It was so cool, it really felt like you were hang gliding when you looked at the screen,  You could also steer it, and try to land it on a target!

This was a fun little ride that the kids could go on.
Lucy loved it and went on it more than a few times.

My sister in law Francine and my cousin in law Marrene.
I love these girls!  I am so lucky to have such a great family!

Pancho and I coming out of a retired "Air Force One" plane.

We thought that it was the actual plane that JFK landed at Dallas in, and then LBJ was sworn in on.
So Pancho and I did the Presidential wave, but then the museum worker told us it was a different Air Force One.  Still  very cool to walk through though!  We also got to go on a Concorde!

Will, Finn and Lucy.
Finn is just one of the kids now . . .looking up to his "big cousins"!

getting ready to run over a really long bridge
marks . . . set . . . GO!

I love how Lucy likes to hug one of her brothers whenever a group photo is being taken!

Lucy giving me her best "teenager on the phone" pose!

We were checking out the Air Traffic Control Tower, it was pretty interesting.
Lucy was being silly and crossing her eyes in this picture!

Francine and Sean
such a cute couple, and we always have so much fun when we are with them

Pancho and I
(also a cute couple - ha ha)

Once again, we tried to get a cute picture of all six cousins together!
This one is pretty good!

Lucy and Annie played in the bathtub for about 2 hours!

. . . a family shot of Kevin, Kate and Finn!

This weekend went by way too fast.  We always have so much fun when we are all together!  I put about a million pictures on this Blog post and I didnt even include any of Sean and Pancho's trip with the kids to Snoqualmie Falls, or Francine and I hitting the consignment stores  and IKEA!  There is also the part where we stayed up both nights until 1:00am talking and laughing and telling stories.  Sometimes I wish we lived closer, but maybe this makes us appreciate our visits with eachother even more!
